White pumpkin and almond murabba is a fabulous preserve featuring the Indian long gourd known by many names, including Opo squash and calabash which you may be more familiar with. This murabba is layered with almonds and scented with cardamom, cinnamon, and vanilla. These happen to be some of the worlds costliest spices so this was frequently served during wedding parties and other festive occasions. It is an ancient recipe which calls Persia and Central Asia home and will open your palate to nuances and depth of flavor combinations.
All natural with no preservatives or additives, gluten or msg. Just ancient recipes prepared with modern safety standards.
Excellent paired with poultry or game meats, or a topping for a creamy cheesecake, but equally delightful on a slice of buttered toast! One of my favorites is a small spoonful in thick creamy Greek yogurt. ( you can’t get that flavor at the grocery store!)
